Waterfalls in Cherrapunji
1. Nohkalikai Falls:

This waterfall isn’t just about its height; it carries a tragic legend. Locals say a woman named Likai leaped off the cliff after a heartbreaking loss, giving the waterfall its name—”Noh-Ka-Likai” (Leap of Likai).
2. Seven Sisters Falls:

The falls are named after the seven northeastern states of India, symbolizing their unity.
During the monsoon in Meghalaya, all seven streams flow in full force, creating a mesmerizing sight. Located in Mawsmai village, this is among the best places to visit in Cherrapunji with family & friends, offering a spectacular view of Meghalaya’s lush green landscape.
3. Dainthlen Falls:

According to Khasi folklore, a giant serpent named Thlen once terrorized the region, and the locals defeated it near this fall.
The waterfall, measuring about 80-90 meters, offers a scenic landscape with rugged cliffs and a wide riverbed. Unlike other waterfalls in Cherrapunji, Dainthlen is easily accessible, making it a great spot for a picnic with family & friends.
